During the Innovation and IP Forum and Awards in Paris (INIFA), Berggren was recognized as the Best Nordic IP Firm in a very competitive category which included several other well-respected Nordic IP firms.
The Leader´s League event takes place in late January each year and attracts attendees from all over the world. This year´s INIFA conference began with an opening keynote presentation on “Building the Best Innovative Europe”, which was given by Ms. Sophie Pasquier (vice-president, LES) and Mr. Marco Aleman (Director, patent law division, WIPO) and which was moderated by Mr. Pierre-Ètienne Lorenceau (Founder & CEO, Leaders League). During the 1-day conference, more than 60 international experts shared their experience on the latest IP trends.
Berggren was represented this year by Sakari Värilä, Mariella Massaro and Robert Alderson. In accepting the award at the evening ceremony, Sakari highlighted Berggren´s team-oriented approach and the innovative spirit of the firm, which has been a pioneer in creating and using the most advanced IT tools for IP management. Indeed, the jury made up of around 70 in-house IP counsel, specifically noted Berggren´s innovative approach as a key factor in winning the award.
Berggren is honored to be recognized as the Best IP Firm in the Nordic region, which itself has been recognized as one of the most innovative areas in the world and, certainly, the most innovative region in Europe. More specifically, Finland was recently named by the European Commission as the 2nd most innovative country in Europe, with other Nordic countries ranking in the top 5. Finland was also recently ranked 6th in the Global Innovation Index 2019, again with other Nordic countries ranking in the top 10.
